Kirribilli Residence sits lightly on the harbour as a place to relax and entertain, its silhouettes and surfaces reflecting a contemporary reading of 1920s opulence.
Mim Design approaches the challenging subterranean site with clarity, shaping a luminous, generous interior that opens outward. A reworked plan draws every key space of the two-bedroom home toward uninterrupted views of the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and city skyline.
The interiors are richly resolved yet liveable. Light moves across ombré brass, polished plaster, Italian marble and stainless steel, creating depth without excess. Curved geometries reference the Opera House through chevron oak flooring, recessed illuminated ceilings and concave columns, bringing consistency to the spatial language.
Within this context, we supplied custom Simon James Kashmir chairs, adding a quiet, sculptural layer. Upholstered to specification, they balance comfort with a measured, architectural line. Above, a Giopato & Coombes Gem Chandelier Branch introduces rhythm and atmosphere, its modular composition dispersing a soft, considered light.
The result is a cohesive interior where material, form and light work in dialogue. Confident, restrained and attuned to its setting.
