A sculptural coffee table in brown stained ash.

Sculp is a coffee table by Simon Legald for Normann Copenhagen, made from solid FSC-certified ash stained a deep brown. The tabletop follows a loose, hand-drawn curve set against the straight lines of the ash planks, and sits on elliptical legs. The slight irregularities are intentional.

It comes in two sizes. The small table stands on three legs and slides under the four-legged large table, so the pair can nest together or be used apart, with the small one working as a side table.

Solid ash.

Simon’s designs are often created in a dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. He also likes to incorporate the techniques that are necessary for the structure of a product into the design by highlighting them visually.
