The Knit Armchair is a lightweight and comfortable chair with a distinctive knitted textile cover that stretches seamlessly over the frame, creating a smooth and tailored look.

The Knit Armchair is a study in refined comfort and functional design. Defined by its lightweight silhouette and soft, embracing form, the chair takes its name from its distinctive knitted textile cover. The flexible fabric stretches seamlessly over the frame, creating a smooth, wrinkle-free surface while enhancing the chair’s ergonomic qualities. A gentle curvature in the backrest follows the natural contours of the body, ensuring support and comfort even during extended seating. Function shapes every detail: the subtly inclined seat invites a comfortable seating position, while the elegantly angled steel legs add a sense of airiness and stability.

The chair is upholstered in Myr—a newly launched knitted textile by Kvadrat, made from 100% recycled polyester. Characterized by an intricate mélange and an irregular, three-dimensional structure, Myr enhances the chair’s tactility, adding both visual depth and a dynamic surface expression. The fabric remains taut over time, ensuring a crisp and tailored look that complements the chair’s sculptural form. Designed with circularity in mind, the Knit Armchair is crafted for easy disassembly, allowing each component—textile, foam, wood, and steel—to be sorted and repurposed individually after many years of good use. This thoughtful approach challenges conventional upholstery, where mixed materials often complicate recycling. Instead, the chair’s construction ensures that longevity and reuse are considered from the very start.
