Stocky, bulky and bold, Bronto tableware is a pleasing handful of ceramics.

An ample mug and chunky espresso cup are immediately recognisable by their uncommonly fat handles. A side plate’s rounded edges and nonchalant shape follows suit. As with all Supergroup designs, breezy forms belie technical expertise and, in fact, the exaggerated soft outlines of the Bronto range are a feat of ceramic production. A joyful colour palette of high gloss glazes, plus a natural clay option, completes the Supergroup signature.

Supergroup

Supergroup is a collaboration between ceramic artist Ian McIntyre and illustrator John Booth. Although at first it may seem like their work is informed by different points of view, these two artists have been exploring their common creative ground in their London studio for some time now. Amongst these is a shared appreciation for accessible design and works that have transparency; with John this is reflected in his unpretentious illustrative hand and for Ian in utilitarian and functional forms. Supergroup is the formal coming together of these two makers and the platform from which Ian and John will present their future collaborations, whilst simultaneously continuing their own practices.
