One of Us: Scott Hampton

One of Us: Scott Hampton - District Furniture

In our One of Us series, we take a moment to recognise the people behind District. This time, we’re speaking with Scott Hampton, our new Project Coordinator based in Melbourne.

Product you would put at home?

The Normann Copenhagen Bit Stool, definitely in the black. I’m a fan of how it turns waste into something functional. Since they’re made from 85 to 95% recycled plastic, the pixelated pattern is slightly different on every single one. I love the idea that no one else would have the exact same stool as me.

Product you would put in someone else’s home?

The Resident Bloom Pendant. It’s such a clever design. Those perforated ‘petals’ create a soft, textured light that completely shifts the mood of a room. It’s the kind of hero piece you can suggest when a space needs to feel resolved without replacing everything in it.

Favourite District product story?

The HÅG Capisco, the ‘Rider’ story. Peter Opsvik designed it after observing a horse rider. Someone who is technically seated but constantly moving and active. In my role, I’m rarely sitting still for long, so I’ve always connected with the idea of a chair built for people who are on the move. It’s one of those rare pieces that reads like a sculpture but is grounded in how people actually work.
