In our One of Us series, we take a moment to recognise the people behind District. This time, we’re speaking with Aston Wilson, our new Warranty Coordinator based in Melbourne.
Product you would put at home?
The Puffy Chair in red-framed black leather is my pick for the office reading room. It’s one of those pieces that immediately catches your eye, but once you sit in it, you realise it’s just as comfortable as it is striking. I love the idea of placing two of them in front of the dark bookshelves with a red Medici side table in between. It feels inviting, a little bold, and like the kind of spot you’d naturally gravitate towards for a coffee, a conversation or a quiet moment with a good book.
Product you would put in someone else’s home?
If I had to recommend one product, it would be the Rise & Shine Mirror. I’m always drawn to pieces that are as practical as they are beautiful, and this one does both effortlessly. What I love most is how adaptable it is. It works just as well in an entryway as it does in a bedroom or living space, and somehow always manages to make the room feel a little brighter and more considered. It’s one of those designs that never feels out of place.
Favourite District product story?
My favourite product story is probably the Burra Chair. I love that its inspiration comes from burrata! The designers wanted to capture that same soft, generous, inviting feeling in a chair, creating something that looks as comfortable as it feels. It’s a simple idea, but it resulted in a design that’s instantly recognisable and full of personality.
