Julie Richoz is a Swiss-French designer based in Paris. Richoz has graduated from ECAL (University of Art and Design Lausanne) and has been teaching design since 2017. She established her own studio in 2015, her clients include brands such as Mattiazzi, Alessi, Louis Poulsen and Louis Vuitton. 

Udine-based Mattiazzi stands apart from its competitors. While many furniture manufacturers rely on third party factories, Mattiazzi operates its own machines using its own skilled craftsmen. The company has been working in this honest way since 1978, when it was founded by brothers Nevio and Fabiano Mattiazzi. Along the way the company has built up a network of workshops that can support its extensive product range. Every Mattiazzi workshop has its own focus – from milling to lacquering – and a particular process always belongs to a specific part of town.

Their highly specialised craftsmen operate the most advanced machinery available to the wood industry, disproving the modern myth that mechanised manufacturing is not a craft.
This localised, and exceptionally professional, approach has allowed it to produce a collection of items that are second-to-none in terms of both quality and style.
