A contemporary club chair reimagined with orbital elegance.

Inspired by the elegance of planetary orbits, the Astro Chair is defined by its sculptural steel tube rings. These circular forms create an external frame that supports a fully webbed seat and back, replacing bulk foam and upholstery with a lighter, more efficient construction. The result is a chair that feels generous and enveloping while maintaining a sleek, architectural presence.

Designer Chris Martin describes Astro as his response to the contemporary club chair: “I like the idea of a generous, enveloping chair, but I wanted to make one with a lighter look and feel. Replacing large volumes of fabric and foam with an elegant tube frame seemed to be the answer to me.”

Balancing sustainability, durability and visual lightness, Astro offers comfort without compromise. Available in 19 premium fabrics from Romo, Kirkby Design, Kvadrat, Sahco and Sorensen, with frames finished in Pure Red, Black or Ivory. Other fabric options are available on request.

Chris Martin

After working as an assistant in Jasper Morrison’s studio in London, British designer Chris Martin left the UK and moved to Stockholm, where he worked as a freelance designer for IKEA and met Swedish designer Magnus Elebäck. In 2009, the pair joined forces to establish Massproductions – a furniture company that prides itself on producing “high quality, tactile furniture in a modernist spirit”.
