At District, we’re always drawn to pieces that feel personal. Objects that are beautifully made, but also quietly clever. These new releases from Resident tick all the boxes: sculptural, precise, and full of character.
Little Fellas by Jamie McLellan
Jamie McLellan’s Little Fellas are a trio of side tables, each built from solid oak and stacked with intention. Their proportions are charming, compact, confident, and a little playful. Exposed joinery gives them a sense of honesty, while the flat-pack design makes them easy to live with.
Jamie calls them “quite honest,” and we agree. They feel like companions: useful, unfussy, and quietly expressive. Perfect beside a sofa, at the bedside, or waiting by the door.
Radio Chair by Tim Rundle
Tim Rundle’s Radio Chair is his first release as Resident’s Creative Director, and it’s a beauty. Made from solid oak, it’s light on its feet but strong in its stance. The legs angle just enough to hold their own, while the backrest wraps gently around you.
It’s a chair that feels good to sit in and good to look at. With or without the upholstered seat pad, it’s ready for homes, cafés, meeting rooms, or anywhere people gather.
Plane Lounge Chair by Jamie McLellan
The Plane Lounge Chair is bold. Two solid timber legs support a cantilevered seat and a wide, welcoming backrest. It looks like it’s floating, but it’s grounded in clever engineering and serious craftsmanship.
Jamie describes it as “heroic,” and we see what he means. A statement piece that is also deeply usable, it holds space beautifully in a gallery-like home or a quiet reading corner.
