Building BLOQS: The Future Workplace

Building BLOQS: The Future Workplace

Perth Design Week: Local + Local

Presented by District & Elements

District and Elements are proud to take part in Perth Design Week as contributors to Local + Local, presented within PDW Local HQ at the Liberty Theatre.

Building BLOQS: The Future Workplace explores adaptability as a practical response to workplace change, with a focus on reducing fitout churn and material waste. Rather than designing for fixed layouts or short lifespans, the exhibition considers how workplaces can evolve through systems and products built to adapt, be repaired, and endure.

Our contribution showcases furniture and components engineered for circularity, designed for longevity, disassembly, and reconfiguration over time. These are products that support changing teams and uses without requiring full replacement, alongside innovative materials from our brand partners that demonstrate responsible manufacturing and material intelligence.

Presented as part of PDW Local HQ, a collective exhibition bringing together Western Australia’s interior design community, Building BLOQS sits within a broader conversation about the value of local collaboration, sustainable design, and long‑term thinking. Local + Local highlights how Australian designers, manufacturers, and suppliers are shaping more resilient and considered interiors through shared knowledge and capability.

Building BLOQS invites visitors to consider how adaptability, circular design, and material choice can play a meaningful role in shaping the future workplace.
